'Plotnitski geeft op en vertrekt uit Loehansk'

Separatistenleider Igor Plotnitski lijkt nu toch wel de benen te hebben genomen. De Russische krant Novaja Gazeta meldt dat een colonne wagens uit de stad Loehansk is vertrokken richting Rusland, met aan boord niet alleen de zelfbenoemde premier van de Volksrepubliek Loehansk (LPR), maar ook het hoofd van zijn administratie Irina Teizman en Anastasia Sjoerkajeva, de directeur van de staatsomroep van de LPR.

Plotnitski had zich de afgelopen dagen verschanst in het stadhuis, door de separatisten 'het Witte Huis' genoemd. Dinsdagavond dook het gerucht op dat hij met zijn gezin naar Rusland was gevlucht, maar dat bleek later onjuist te zijn.

De regeringsgebouwen zijn nog altijd omsingeld door gewapende mannen, waaronder vermoedelijk manschappen van het ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken van de LPR en van het ministerie van Staatsveiligheid van de Volksrepubliek Donetsk (DPR).

Het lijkt erop dat de maandag door Plotnitski ontslagen minister van Binnenlandse Zaken Igor Kornel aan het langste eind heeft getrokken, maar zeker is dat niet. Daarvoor zijn er teveel andere (Russische) belangen in het spel.
