Export Lada's naar Oekraïne ligt al tijdje stil

De Russische autofabrikant AvtoVAZ exporteert al sinds de herfst geen Lada's meer naar Oekraïne. Daardoor zijn alleen nog de Niva SUV en de Largus Universal verkrijgbaar bij de dealers. De goedkope Lada Granta en de Lada Kalina zijn al enige tijd niet meer nieuw te koop. De Granta, één van de goedkoopste wagens op de Oekraïense automarkt, verdween in november uit de showrooms.

Het is niet duidelijk of AvtoVAZ de export van Lada's hervat. De handel in nieuwe auto's heeft een moeilijke tijd doorgemaakt, al is wel sprake van een licht herstel. AvtoVAZ heeft bovendien het onderspit moeten delven in de prijzenslag met de Oekraïense autofabrikant ZAZ, gevestigd in Zaporizja.

Dat komt vooral door beëindigen van het vrijhandelsverdrag tussen Rusland en Oekraïne, waardoor nu een importheffing betaald moet worden. Doordat de overheid ook een extra belastingheffing voor AvtoVAZ invoerde, maken deze belastingen nu bijna een kwart van de consumentenprijs uit en zijn sommige Lada's even duur geworden als Europese auto's.

PJSC AvtoVAZ is the largest manufacturer of Renault-Nissan Alliance in Russia and its Togliatti plant is one of the largest car plants worldwide, producing cars in full cycle under four brands (Lada, Renault, Nissan and Datsun).
